Installing Desktop Fonts

Ensure that you have first extracted the downloaded ZIP files. You should be able to see a folder containing any font files with the suffix OTF or TTF. These are the font files you will install.

Newly installed fonts do not always appear immediately in the font menus of your applications. If this is the case Quit the application and Relaunch it.

Install under MacOs

  • Locate the extracted font file(s). Double-click them to open the Font Preview window, then select 'Install Font'. After your Mac has validated them the Font Book app will open, and the font will be installed and available for use.

If a different application attempts to open the fonts, follow this alternative procedure:

  • Open the Font Book app (in Applications), select File > Add Fonts, navigate to your downloaded font files, choose them and select 'Open'.

You can use Font Book > Preferences to set the default install location, which determines whether the fonts you add are available to other user accounts on your Mac.
